Don’t worry if you’re a first-timer or traveling with little ones—this is an easy, relaxing trail designed for beginners and families.

The Ride & The Wildlife

Allow yourself to be captivated by the vibrant birds of the La Fortuna region. As you ride through our authentic farm landscape, you will hear the unmistakable calls of the magnificent Scarlet Macaw (Ara macao) and observe the characteristic multicolored beak of the Keel-billed Toucan (Ramphastos sulfuratus).

Keep an eye out for the elegant Lesson’s Motmots (Momotus lessonii), the shimmering colors of various Hummingbirds, and the flashes of color from different Tanagers, all serenaded by the melodic song of the Clay-colored Thrush (Turdus grayi), Costa Rica’s national bird.

With a good explorer’s eye, your mission is simple: become a silent part of the forest, and you’re gonna have a tuanis time. You’ll get to see sloths chilling and taking a little nap—and for sure you might even spot a mom with her baby, which is such a chuzo! We promise you’ll leave with your heart full of memories. The forest floor comes alive with little family groups of peccaries, while playful monkeys swing through the canopy above, and a huge variety of tropical birds fill the air with a spectacular concert.
Trail Adventure: Ride through our private farm trails, crossing streams and enjoying stunning views of the countryside. Keep an eye out for local wildlife!
Hands-On Experience: For those who want the full, authentic farm experience, you can help us unsaddle and bathe your horse, becoming a part of our daily routine. Optional.

Do I need to have riding experience? Not at all! Our tours are perfect for everyone, from first-timers to experienced riders. Our friendly, expert guides will teach you everything you need to know so you can feel completely safe and just focus on having fun and enjoying the beautiful scenery.

Are there any age or weight limits? Yes, for everyone’s safety, we have a minimum age of 4 years old and a maximum weight limit. We’ll make sure you’re paired with a horse that’s the perfect match for your size and skill level, ensuring a great experience for both you and our animals. Is the tour safe? Your safety is our top priority. All our horses are well-trained and gentle, and our professional and experienced guides ensure your safety at all times. We provide helmets for all riders to guarantee your comfort and safety from start to finish.

What should I wear and bring? The most important thing is to wear closed-toe shoes; no sandals, please! We recommend wearing long pants and comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. It’s also a good idea to bring a hat, sunscreen, and insect repellent to protect yourself from the Costa Rican sun and insects.

What if it rains? Here in Costa Rica, a little rain is part of the adventure! Our tours run rain or shine, so we recommend bringing a light raincoat just in case.
